Monday, Oct 14 Pre-UIL

Pre-UIL is still on for this afternoon. Please plan for the weather and wear:

We will meet at 3pm in the band hall before leaving for Clark Stadium. We are slated to return to the school by 9:30pm.
If it is raining, we will still be performing unless you hear from me. Please be sure to check the Facebook site and twitter feeds.

Surprise for AHHS Class of '73
A few members of the AHHS Band got together a paid a surprise visit to a gathering of AHHS Class of '73 members at Bravo. Quick little concert and photos, and a big thanks to the Class of '73 for supporting us this year.

Band Booster Meeting Sept 10
We will have our monthly Band Booster Meeting on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:00 in the band hall. We will discuss the march-a-thon and other fund raisers coming up. PLEASE if you have not turned in your pledges/donations bring them in on Monday and Tuesday mornings. We will annouce the 2 students who collected the most donations and award prizes at the meeting. We are also still trying to collect missing paperwork on some students as well as band fees. On Friday night we travel to Brewer High School for our game. We are still in need of chaperons for this game and others. You can sign up at the meeting. The band will also be marching in a parade on Saturday morning (Sept.14). More details will come from Mr. Wiebers. I would like to thank all the parents, grandparents,friends, neighbors and others who help make this march-a-thon a success this year. It takes lots of hands (a tired feet) to make this happen. Thanks to the Paschal Band Boosters for their help and support this year. And a special thanks for Paschal Parent Karen Fetter for helping our kids get the notices out to the neighborhood. See you on Tuesday night at the meeting.

BAND!! ATTENTION!
It's the final week of rounding up pledges and donations for the march-a-thon. Please talk to your family, friends, neighbors, work, etc. and secure those pledges now. Pledge sheets and money are due on Friday, September 6. Place sheets and money/checks in a sealed envelope marked "march-a-thon" and turn into Mr. Wiebers. The top two students bringing in the most pledge money (must be at least $100) will receive prizes. Remember, the march-a-thon is Saturday morning, Sept. 7. Be there and join the parade! Parents, siblings, friends, and neighbors-invite them all to come out and watch as we rock our neighborhood and Hulen.

AHHS Yellow Jacket Band March-A-Thon
Arlington Heights High School Band Booster Club

The AHHS Yellow Jacket Marching Band will be marching and performing in a parade on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Our route will take us from our school through our neighborhood and down Hulen Street ending at Hulen and Bellaire Drive. Along this route you will observe music, marching, and color guard performances. We will step off at 9:00 A.M. and finish up at 12:00 P.M.
This march-a-thon will be one of our fund raisers for this year to support our band and color guard throughout the marching season and on through our spring concert season as well. Each year we encounter expenses that FWISD does not cover, and our band and band boosters work to raise the funds we need to keep this organization strong.
Each band and color guard member works hard to perfect our music and shows for not only football games, but parades, UIL, and concert season performances. We need support from our AHHS neighbors and friends to “keep the music going.”
Supporters who pledge $500 or more will have their business featured here on our Band Blog Page for this school year. This blog is the information center for our band members and their parents.
We also welcome pledges of other amounts and will be very grateful for your support this year of our Yellow Jacket Band.
Arlington Heights High School Band Booster Club is a 501©3 non-profit organization. All donations to our general fund are tax deductable.

Band Camp Begins Monday, 8/5 @ 12:00pm
Because of an avoidable event, Band Camp will start at 12:00pm with registration in the hallway outside of the band hall. Camp will conclude on Monday at 3:30pm. The remainder of the camp will be as originally scheduled: 7:00am - 3:30pm.
Dress for Hot Weather: Light colored t-shirts, shorts, tennis shoes, hats, sun glasses. No jeans, no flip-flops/sandals.
Bring: Instrument, music and flips folders with lyres, pencil, LARGE clearly labeled water bottle filled with cold water, sun screen, bug repellent, positive attitude.
See you Monday!

Literacy Rally Performance - Sat. 4/27, Call Time 8:00am
The Literacy Rally will be held in the West Lot of Arlington Heights High School. Students will wear "Nice and Springy" clothes (polo shirts, khaki shorts, etc. No jeans, or t-shirts).

Winter Guard Takes Home 2nd Place!
The AHHS Colorguard competed over the weekend at the North Texas Colorguard Association Regional Championships and took home second place. Congratulations to all of the members on a fantastic season and a big thank you to our instructors, Mr. Anthony Kennedy and Mr. Willie London!

Egg Hunt Cancelled and Breakfast rescheduled to May 4

Winter Guard Takes First Place!
They did it again! The AHHS Winter Guard competed on Friday,
March 15 at the North Texas Color Guard Association competition at Marcus High
School and brought home first place! This is the fourth time the winter
guard has placed in the top three and the second time they have earned 1st
place. The next competition is:
NTCGA Regional
Class Championships, Saturday, March 23 at Richland High School at Thomas
Coliseum, Competition begins at 10:00am; performance time is set for 12:00pm.
